Dr. Mark D. Miller

Dr. Mark Miller is a board-certified orthopedic specialist, fellowship-trained by Dr. James Andrews in knee and shoulder arthroscopic surgery. Originally from South Dakota, Dr. Miller attended Phillip Exeter Academy in New Hampshire for high school on an academic scholarship. In college, he was both a baseball pitcher and cross country runner at Wesleyan University. He returned to South Dakota for medical school and then completed his orthopedic residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he took care of the nationally recognized women’s soccer team, including national team players Mia Hamm, Tisha Venturini and Kristine Lilly. Additionally, he performed two fellowships — a shoulder fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and a sports medicine fellowship with Dr. James Andrews at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Dr. Miller, St. Louis

Dr. Miller moved to St. Louis in 1998 and was a founding partner of The Orthopedic Center of St. Louis in 2003. In addition to a busy practice, Dr. Miller serves as the team physician for St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club, and has presented research and been an invited speaker at meetings throughout the United States, speaking on topics related to the care and treatment of shoulder injuries and sports medicine.

Dr. Miller is married to Nancy Weaver-Miller, a professor of public health at Saint Louis University. Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing golf and running.
